Vegas. I’ve been there about 100 hundred times in this young life of mine. After a night of playing cards at the tables in the casino, I go to sleep - in a daze - and dream about cards all night long. (The same thing happens to me when I play more than 2 consecutive hours of Tetris, but that’s another story…)

The only game I’ve ever won money playing in Vegas is Black Jack and the reason being is that the player actually has the advantage (unless the casino is dangling scantily clad strippers and free drinks down your throat all night long, statistically the player has the advantage versus the house.)

That’s why I’ve been thinking - maybe I should sharpen my skills at this game at home on the computer before I head to Vegas next…. Maybe if I play sober at home and play sober in Vegas I’ll be able to make myself mucho dinero on the next Vegas visit (scheduled for sometime between now and the next time I make enough money to afford a room at the Wynn…)

So I’ve signed up for free blackjack at BlackjackClub (you can download the Casino software here) - I chose this site because the site supports all languages and has support in every language as well as new 3D games.

Can’t tell you if I am up or down or down and out, but I think you can get the drift from this blog posting that I’m on my way to Vegas next week and staying at the Wynn…. Booked myself a suite… Shhhh, don’t tell anyone.

Anyhow, all this talk about Blackjack has got me thinking about the best movies with Blackjack in them and here they are:

1. “Rain Man” - Tom Cruise and his autistic brother played by Dustin Hoffman are down on their luck, but they use card-counting skills and end up in the whale’s suite at Caesar’s Palace after winning a boat-load of money.
2. “Casino” - Robert De Niro runs the show at this fictional Vegas casino and his achilles heel is his wife Sharon Stone who can’t seem to wash her hair of creep-o James Woods.
3. “Leaving Las Vegas” - Nic Cage is the worst kind of drunk and loser. He’s in Vegas and even hottie Elizabeth Shue can hardly save him from how badly he’s ruining his life.
4. “Oceans 11” - both the original with Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra and the re-make with George Clooney and Brad Pitt.
5. “Honeymoon in Vegas” - Nicolas Cage is back in Vegas, but this time its to try and marry Sarah Jessica Parker, but James Caan is in his way. Pretty amazing Flying Elvis scene into the Flamingo Casino at the end. Upcoming Blackjack movie: “21”
Robert Luketic (”Legally Blonde“) directs Kevin Spacey as a con-man who takes six MIT students trained in card-counting to Vegas and ultimately wins millions. Hottie Kate Bosworth also stars. The film is wrapped and I’ve seen some footage - Sony will be releasing the film October 29th in North America.

Ashley Tisdale and Miley Cyrus appear to be making out in this recent photo

After hearing so much tragic news lately like Heath Ledger and Brad Renfro’s deaths. Or for that matter, the economic recession we seem to have found ourselves in thanks to George W. Bush, I think people need to find creative ways to pick up their spirits and get out of the depression that they might find themselves in. One of my methods for doing this is by concocting secret fantastic wishes and hoping that they will come true. Currently, I have a recurring secret wish that Disney icons Ashley Tisdale (”High School Musical“) and Miley Cyrus (”Hannah Montana“) will come out to the world as lesbian lovers.

This wish seems like it might have come true in the picture from the looks of the picture above which we grabbed from TMZ showing the two teen singing actresses barely missing each other on cheek kisses and coming together somewhere in the mouth and lip region. Oh to dream….

From the looks of these other pictures of the two together, I suppose the two Disney starlets are already “friendly” with one another. Stranger things could happen…. (and before I get all the hate mail from the 12 year old girls that patrol this site it’s just a secret wish of mine, so don’t even try and comment about her being ‘innocent’ I don’t really care….)

OK, maybe my OCD has gotten the best of me, but I’ve found the first music video from American Idol Season 7’s Kristy Lee Cook.

 There’s some very hot scenes of her in a wet white wife-beater shirt making out with a dude in the water.  And then there’s scenes of her in a sexy lingerie outfit looking out from a porch with a ‘Titanic‘ feel to it.

The song is OK, the vocals very good and the quality of the video very cheesy, but it might be interesting to get a look at her before the “American Idol” make-over begins…

On the bio portion of the website that is broadcasting Cook’s video “Devoted” it mentions the following: 

“Kristy Lee is not your typical young lady.” Until Kristy moved to Texas a few years ago to pursue her music career, she was living in a log-cabin style home, surrounded by pine trees, in Selma, Oregon, and riding her horse, Midnight, almost every day. Putting Midnight, an Arabian, through her paces usually meant jumping, racing, and swimming in the river…most of which Kristy did bareback.”

Apparently Kristy Lee Cook has already been discovered -at age 15, a songwriter named David MacKechnie from Oregon heard her sing and sent her material to Marty Rendleman in Dallas who previously managed LeAnn Rimes. At that time, Joe Galante of RCA signed her and she was supposed to go on tour with Britney Spears.  This never happened and by age 17, Kristy and a few other acts were dropped from the label. 

Her first CD was entitled “Devoted” Cook has also done acting and modeling.

Cook’s musical influences include Martina McBride, Faith Hill and Shania Twain, but she also loves the music of Garth Brooks and Gary Allan.

Kristy is 5′8″ tall and her bio even mentions that she’s a “blonde, blue-eyed Brooke Shields” type - basically the “All-American girl next door.”
