John Voight hearts Israel

A few weeks ago 69-year-old actor John Voight (father of Angelina Jolie) came to Israel and was interviewed by Israeli television. (see clip below)

He talks harshly about the terrorist organizations that have tarnished the infrastructure of the Gaza strip.

As a non-jew, Voight claims that his love for Israel and pro-Americanism is a sane passion that came out of watching the end of the Vietnam War. Voight says that the West is being overwhelmed by propoganda.

Gina Gershon denies affair with Bill Clinton

Gina Gershon
Gina Gershon thinks Bill Clinton is finger licking good…

Actress Gina Gershon is demanding a retraction from Vanity Fair magazine after they reported that President Bill Clinton “had been seen visiting” her in California citing “high-end Hollywood dinner party gossip” as the source.

Gershon’s lawyers and her publicist (Mara Buxbaum - a partner at ID Public Relations) claim that Vanity Fair journalist Todd Purdum’s insinuations are lies and “irresponsible journalism” - a tough and hard line and Buxbaum says that “we are demanding a retraction.”

The letter from Gershon’s lawyers can be found here.

Gershon, an actress who appeared in “Showgirls” and “P.S. I Love You” and President Clinton were both outraged and offended by the article. Turns out it was written by Todd Purdum who is married to former Clinton press secretary Dee Dee Meyers and he’s defending his article on CNN’s “The Situation Room” saying that he was “”very careful to say there is no clear-cut evidence that President Clinton has done anything improper.” Adding:

“I reject the notion that I’m making an insinuation. But I’m very comfortable quoting the people I quote because I know who they are, and I know that they are very senior people who have known President Clinton for a very long time and work for him at very high levels.”

Where there’s smoke, there must be fire. And we all know Clinton’s penchant for sexy brunettes…. (OK fine, he likes anything with a vagina, but you know what I mean…)

Entertainment Weekly Cover: Oliver Stone’s movie about George W. Bush

Entertainment Weekly

A pretty good looking mock-up of George W. Bush (Josh Brolin) and wife Laura Bush (Elizabeth Banks) on the cover of the latest Entertainment Weekly magazine which sports the two stars in full make-up and wardrobe in Oliver Stone’s upcoming film “W

When I first heard that Josh Brolin was going to play Bush, I was excited. Because I thought that there was a lot of resemblance. And who had a better 2007 than Brolin?

I think Elizabeth Banks makes a slightly sexier Laura Bush than the real-thing. But this is the movies people and sexier is better I tell ya.

Ellen Burstyn plays Barbara Bush and James Cromwell (who I saw at Hugo’s in West Hollywood last week) is playing George H. W. Bush and funnyman Rob Corddry locked in another supporting role as Press Secretary Ari Fleischer (who is also bald, but not as funny as Corddry incidentally.)

“W.” began lensing in April in Shreveport, Louisiana (borders Marshall, Texas where my Dad produced a film in the 1980’s for HBO) and the studio is hoping to get this film ready in time for an end of November 2008 release (they’ll have to hurry…. but it not, they can release it in time for the inaguaration of Barack Obama in January, 2009.)

The Boss endorses Obama…

Bruce Springsteen
Bruce Springsteen, aka “The Boss” might have been ‘born to run’ but the one who is running this time is Barack Obama and it’s for President of the United States.

Now Springsteen, who has never made his support of the common man a secret, has announced that he is supporting Barack Obama for President. On his Web site, Springsteen posted a simple endorsement:

“Senator Obama, in my view, is head and shoulders above the rest. He has the depth, the reflectiveness, and the resilience to be our next President.”

Springsteen said that Hillary Clinton’s “Bittergate” is overblown and a distraction from the issues.

In 2004, Springsteen supported John Kerry against George W. Bush. Let’s hope the Springsteen endorsement carries more weight this time…
