Just when you thought that BOPsy was going to stop being all “political” since our candidate of choice – Barack Obama – was elected, then came this Proposition 8 fiasco in California.
We don’t believe in the concept of marriage, but we think its wrong to hate. Here’s one of the many virals that talented filmmakers have made to express how this outlook:
Perhaps the only reason to watch the New DeclareYourself.com ‘Get-Out-The-Vote’ video viral with new and improved movie stars like Tom Cruise,Will Smith and Scarlett Johannsen is that it includes a hilarious final 5 seconds in which Sacha Baron Cohen as ‘Borat’ says “What you do in voting booth is secret. I like make hand-release….”
Liberals Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey appear on “30 Rock” together
After appearing on the highest rated “Saturday Night Live” this weekend alongside Republican Vice Presidential nominee Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, liberal actor and activist Alec Baldwin’s political character has been called in to question by some.
Especially, after receiving a ‘zinger’ from Palin when she said that pseudo-Christian-retard Stephen Baldwin was her favorite Baldwin brother.
So Baldwin went on the Huffington Post and blogged about the incident comparing meeting Palin on SNL to a very civil encounter he had with former Secretary of State Dr. Henry Kissinger (whom Baldwin refers to as his ‘political opposite’) in 1998.
Baldwin wrote about the Palin meeting on SNL:
Saturday Night Live is a comedy show. It’s not Meet the Press. It doesn’t “ask the tough questions” or “set the agenda.” It attempts, with varying degrees of success, to make people laugh. That’s it. Whether they skewer and savage people in order to do so, they don’t care. When you come on a show like that, you are prepared in advance to get worked over. Palin knew that. Palin came on to be a good sport. And she was. She was polite, gracious. (More so than some of the famous actors who come through there, believe me.)
However, I assume that, like Meet the Press, SNL feels an obligation to offer their special forum to any and all public figures and officials who are current. Headline making. And in SNL’s case, would make for a hit show. Several people decried SNL for giving her a spot on the show. You’re kidding, right? The woman is the Vice Presidential nominee of one of the two major parties in this country. Don’t put her on SNL? With all of her exposure and the Tina Fey performance? What reality are you in?
If you think an appearance on Saturday Night Live would sway voters and actually affect the outcome of the election, you may have more contempt for the electorate of this country than the Republican National Committee does. And that’s a lot of contempt.
Tina Fey has been a fixture on “Saturday Night Live” portraying Alaska Governor Sarah Palin ever since John McCain has chosen Palin as his running mate. Tonight on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” Palin appeared on the show and appeared to be a good sport on the show which has been mocking her mercilessly over the past month.
The show opened with Tina Fey portraying Palin and holding forth before the “liberal elite media and the liberal regular media” at her first press conference.
In addition to Palin, Mark Wahlberg (who made it known last week that he hated Andy Samberg’s imitation of him in another sketch) appeared on the show. Alec Baldwin also came on as a guest on the show and his bit was to mistake Palin for “30 Rock” co-star Tina Fey and talk trash about Palin straight to her face.
However, the best part of the show was when the very pregnant Amy Pohler performed a ‘Sarah Palin rap’ on the ‘Weekend Update’ part of the program. Check it out here
