Marion Cotillard looks so hot winning her Oscar tonight
15 out of 27 experts and bloggers picked Julie Christie to win Best Actress tonight for her portrayal of an alzheimer-afflicted woman in “Away From Her” - However, we had our doubts and went along with a very small percentage that thought that Marion Cotillard’s embodiement of French singer ‘Edith Piaf’ was good enough to get her Oscar gold for “La Vie En Rose.”

The red carpet tonight at the Oscars was littered with starlets who wore red. Katherine Heigl, Heidi Klum, Ruby Dee and Miley Cyrus to name just a few. I think we’ll get a complete play-by-play from our own Mizz Jibbz in a few hours on who wore what succesfully, but here’s a picture of Barbara Walters’ interview subject, the 15-year-old Miley Cyrus.

One of the most poignant images of this evening’s Oscar ceremony was watching Daniel Day Lewis (or DDL as those in the know refer to him) receive his award for Best Actor for the portrayal of ‘Daniel Plainview’ in the movie “There Will Be Blood.”
A heavy favorite to win, DDL arrived on-stage to accept the award from presenter Helen Mirren (who won Best Actress last year for her portrayal of ‘Queen Elizabeth II’ in “The Queen“) and said “this is the closest I’ll ever come to being knighted.
Of course, if DDL was a British citizen and not Irish, there’s a good chance his 2 Oscar wins (”My Left Foot” and now “There Will Be Blood“) would entitle him to becoming Sir Daniel Day Lewis…
