Bruce Willis is 53 years old today.

The actor born Walter Bruce Willis and later nicknamed “Bruno” was born in West Germany, but grew up in New Jersey.

The actor who has appeared in films that have cumulatively grossed over $2.5 billion dollars got his start as a bartender and was discoverd by a casting director.

The big break for Willis came landing the role of “David Addison” opposite Cybill Shepherd in the hit romantic comedy TV series “Moonlighting” which premiered in 1985.

From there, Willis theatrical career blew up as he embodied “John McClane” in the Die Hard film in 1988.

Willis was married to actress Demi Moore and they share custody to their three children.

Blind jazz pianist Bob Ringwald’s youngest daughter Molly was listed as one of the “Promising New Actors of 1984″ - she was 16-years-old.

A recovering sex-addict, Pauly Shore grew up performing on stage at his mother’s ‘Comedy Store’ on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California.  Attending Beverly Hills High School the Jewish son-of-a-comic got his big break on MTV’s “Totally Pauly” with his character the ‘Weaz’ (not to be confused with ‘Weezie’ on “The Jeffersons“)
