‘Friday Night Lights’ premieres on DirecTV

NBC’s expensive and critically lauded show “Friday Night Lights” is not a hit in the ratings department and in order to keep the show alive, NBC has struck an interesting deal with satellite provider DirectTV.
DirecTV will get the jump on NBC in airing the third season (October 5th the season started.)
The advertising slogan to reel potential customers in to DirecTV with the show’s cross-promotion reads: “Uncut. Uninterrupted. Unavailable. Unless you have DirecTV”
Even Hulu.com which carries all aired NBC programs is not broadcasting the show until 2009 - they posted a notice on the website that reads
“Availability Notes:
Season 3 episodes will come to Hulu in the Spring, 2009, after an exclusive run on DirecTV.”
