Acting icon and philanthropic entrepreneur Paul Newman has died at age 83 of cancer at home in Westport, Connecticut.

The actor famous for performances in films such as “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” “Exodus” “The Hustler” “Cool Hand Luke” “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” was also famous for his many years of charity work.

In the past 15 years, all the profits from his food company Newman’s Own was donated to charity. More than $200 million.

Newman leaves behind his wife of 50 years, actress Joanne Woodward and their five children.
