Rocky Horror remake

The creative vacuum of Hollywood might’ve finally reached its marrow-sucking low, as it was announced yesterday that a remake is in the works for a film that’s still technically in its original theatrical release. Granted the film in question, trannie camp musical Rocky Horror Picture Show, made its debut some 30 years ago, but the fact remains that the original never left theaters – so why the need for a remake? Oh yeah, money.
Musical remake will be a co-production of UK’s Sky Movies and America’s MTV—ironic on the part of the latter, as they haven’t been relevant to the musical landscape since Beavis & Butthead went off the air. Returning as executive producer will be music industry scumbag Lou Adler, who spouted this pointless sound bite:
“So here we go again, with a new cast, believing that the Sky and MTV remake will add to the Rocky Horror phenomenon.”
Yeah, because nothing says underground cult classic like the superpower-team-up of two out-of-touch big-money media conglomerates.
No word yet on the cast, although Jack Black is a no-brainer to fill Meatloaf’s XXXL slacks as Eddie. Zac Efron was suggested for the role of Frank-N-Furter but was deemed too feminine to play a transvestite.
