Synecdoche, New York clips

Charlie Kaufman, CelebScribe Version 1.0 (thankfully Version 2.0 comes with the optional hipster-stripper skin), premieres his directorial deboot Synecdoche, New York this week at something called the “Cannes Film Festival” (I dunno either, but I guess it happens in Europe someplace). Film stars Philip “that molester looking guy” Seymour Hoffman and is about a bunch of Woody Allen-esque elitist artfag bullshit which will surely be declared a staggering work of genius by people who own iPhones. Anyway, our friends at /Film have clips from the film up on their internet site, so check ‘em out here.
Kaufman is generally considered one of our epoch’s greatest screenwriters because he invented the idea of not writing the exact same bullshit everyone else writes, or sequels to said bullshit, or remakes. His films Golly I’m Original, Look at Me! I’m Doing Something Different!, and Gosh Aren’t I Clever? can be found gracing the “favorite movies” lists on urban hipsters’ MySpace and Facebook pages everywhere.
