Zack Snyder to direct ‘Guardians of Ga’Hoole’

The directing genius behind “300” Zack Snyder is set to direct “Guardians of Ga’Hoole” an animated feature based on the children’s books by Kathryn Lasky for Village Roadshow and Warner Bros.
The script for the film co-written by John Orloff (”A Mighty Heart“) and John Collee (”Master and Commander“) is set in the Forest of Tyto, where Barn Owls live in peace until their kingdom is threatened by an evil that could destroy their home.
Animal Logic an Australian company (”Happy Feet“) will likely partner with Village Roadshow and Warner Bros. again to put the film together in time for a 2009 or 2010 release.
Snyder’s first follow-up film to “300” will be “Watchmen” (to release on March 6, 2009) an adaptation of Alan Moore’s DC Comics starring Billy Crudup, Carla Cugino, Malin Akerman and Patrick Wilson.
