NBC announces lineup
Ben Silverman announced this week that NBC will be making a spin off to “The Office” that will debut after the Super Bowl and they’re going to put “Saturday Night Live” in primetime for four weeks in the fall.
The 65-week schedule that Silverman unveiled starting this summer and running through next year that emphasizes family-targeted programs at 8pm, blockbuster programming at 9pm and adult-themed dramas at 10pm.
Four new shows are coming through in the Fall, Christian Slater starring in “My Own Worst Enemy” Mondays at 10, sit-com “Kath & Kim” will bow Tuesdays at 9:30, “Knight Rider” will be slotted for Wednesdays at 8, and “Crusoe” is set for Fridays at 8.
NBC will be airing a show called “Merlin” based on the Camelot legend that will air Sundays at 8pm in the winter. “Merlin” will star Anthony Head (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) and is co-produced by the BBC.
My favorite show and arguably the best made show on TV, “Friday Night Lights” will be back, but not until this winter.
Old staples such as “ER,” “30 Rock,” “Medium” and “Law & Order” have also been renewed as well as “Lipstick Jungle.”
Get ready for “The Celebrity Apprentice 2” Thursdays at 10 in the winter and new drama “Kings” at 10 on Sundays.
A third season of “American Gladiators” is going to be held until summer 2009 (season two premieres next month).
The long-running show “Scrubs” is not on NBC’s schedule for next season and has been expected to move to ABC.
