Matt Tolmach and Doug Belgrad re-up contracts at Sony till 2011
Co-presidents of production at Sony Pictures (Columbia) Doug Belgrad and Matt Tolmach extended their contracts with the studio through 2011. The duo oversaw production at the studio since 2003 with hits such as the “Spider-Man” trilogy, “Casino Royale,” “Superbad,” “Hitch,” “The Da Vinci Code,” and “The Pursuit of Happyness” under their belts.
Belgrad and Tolmach report to Amy Pascal and Michael Lynton, co-chairmen of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Pascal recognized the duo for having
“a track record of success that rivals the best partnerships in Hollywood history.” “They are trusted for their story sense and their production skills, and they have earned the respect of filmmakers and the creative community.”
Columbia’s 2008 slate of films includes the Adam Sandler film “You Don’t Mess With the Zohan,” the Will Smith vehicle “Hancock,” the 22nd James Bond installment “Quantum of Solace” and two Judd Apatow-produced comedies: “Pineapple Express” and “The Year One.”
