WGA Strike officially ends in just a few hours…
The end of the WGA strike is only a few hours away.
Right now (from 2PM to 6PM) the membership of the WGA is meeting at the WGA Theater in Los Angeles (while the East Coast is meeting from 4PM to 7PM at the Crowne Plaza in NYC.)
Members can also vote via fax and the results of the voting (which all sane people expect will endorse the end of the strike) is set to be announced by the WGA several hours later.
The WGA will also mail out ratification ballots to members in the next few days with a 10-day return period to officially endorse the new three-year deal.
TV’s showrunners began working yesterday and ABC renewed nine series for the fall. Additionally, the February 24th Oscar telecast can proceed (although with not as much planning as they are used to) and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is expected to make an official announcement about details of the show at the end of this week.
