Kurt’s daughter - Francis Bean Cobain on cover of ‘Harper’s Bazaar’
It’s got to be hard for the offspring of a dead legend to cope with the expectations that surround them with every look and mention. Not to mention the aura of the dead parent that society in general reveres. Take John Lennon and his son Sean Lennon. It’s like he had no real chance to make it cause of the absurd expectations that were placed upon him. Same goes for Francis Bean Cobain. The daughter of Nirvana lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain and Hole’s lead singer Courtney Love.
When Kurt Cobain put a gun to his head and shot himself, I am sure he had no idea that his fame and music would survive 13 years afterwards - and affect his daughter as she passed her 15th birthday. And now Francis Bean Cobain is headlining as the star of “Evita“, “Grease” and “Beauty and the Beast” – for a fashion spread in the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
Her mother Courtney Love says:
“Frances grew up on musicals. I think musicals comfort her…. She’s a gay man trapped in a woman’s body, like me.”
Francis Bean responds saying:
“These people are fascinated by me, but I haven’t done anything…. If you’re a big Nirvana fan, a big Hole fan, then I understand why you would want to get to know me, but I’m not my parents. People need to wait until I’ve done something valid with my life”
