‘Barackula – The Musical’

Perhaps this is the picture that inspired the creation of the Barackula online viral video
Barack Obama hysteria and ‘Obamamania’ as some are starting to call it has taken over the television and radio airwaves over the past few weeks running up to yesterday’s Super Tuesday primaries. Yesterday, the Senator from Illinois gained more delegates than Senator Clinton and polls demonstrate that it was the youth vote that turned out for Obama in big numbers.
Lots of credit for energizing the youth vote perhaps will be credited to an online viral music video by Black Eyed Peas lead singer will i.m. which is entitled “Yes We Can” that we featured here and it looks as though there’s another project coming to us in the next few weeks that may be a buzz-generating tool for Obama’s supporters. The project entitled ”Barackula — The Musical“ is a political horror film by first-time director Mike Lawson (”American Pie Presents Band Camp“) and it uses Obama’s own words as its source material (which is also the case in the “Yes We Can” video viral.) “Barackula — The Musical” is a fictional story of a young Barack Obama (played by actor Justin Sherman) who fights off vampires at Harvard Law School. Lawson describes the film as a mix between Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video and the Andrew Lloyd-Weber musical “Jesus Christ Superstar” and says the film is a:
“political horror rock musical about young Barack Obama having to stave off a secret society of vampires at Harvard when he was inducted into presidency at the Harvard Law Review in 1990.”
You can be sure that we will be bringing the video to you as soon as we grab a hold of it…
