Joe Johnston to direct “The Wolf Man”

Benecio Del Toro will star as “The Wolf Man” with his father to be played by Anthony Hopkins
Music video director and nut-job Mark Romanek quit the $85 million budget remake of “The Wolf Man” last week and names began to fly in from all over the place as to who would replace him on the green-lit project for Universal. Names like “Cloverfield” director Matt Reeves, hack-of-the-century Brett Ratner, John Landis and then finally one name has stuck Joe Johnston.
The 57-year-old director who got his start as a storyboard artist with George Lucas at Lucasfilm has directed memorable films such as “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” and “October Sky” but also a couple of stinkers like 1995’s “Jumanji” and “Jurrasic Park III.”
“The Wolf Man” has Benicio Del Toro as the title character, Anthony Hopkins as the title character’s father and Emily Blunt (”The Devil Wears Prada“) as the female lead.
