Angelina Jolie gets Award from Santa Barbara Film Festival
It surely isn’t an Oscar or even a Golden Globe, but Angelina Jolie’s hard work this year has paid off in the form of a “Performance of the Year” award from the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
The actress was handed the award by Clint Eastwood for her portrayal of ‘Mariane Pearl’ (wife of killed journalist Daniel Pearl) in Michael Winterbottom’s “A Mighty Heart.”
Eastwood will be directing the 32-year-old Jolie in “The Changeling” (Universal has set a release date of November 8, 2008) - the plot line of which revolves around a mother’s prayer for her kidnapped son to return home is answered, though it doesn’t take long for her to suspect the boy who comes back is not hers.
Journalists at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival were forbidden to ask questions about the pregnancy rumors surrounding Angelina Jolie. Many rumors are circling that she and husband Brad Pitt are expecting twins. The actress has three adopted children, six-year-old Maddox, four-year-old Pax and three-year-old Zahara, and a 19-month-old biological daughter Shiloh with Pitt.
