‘Star Trek XI’ casts two young actors to play young Spock and Kirk
The J.J. Abrams directed ”Star Trek XI” movie will feature a young Spock in addition to the two adult Spocks (Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy). It appears that the movie will also feature a young ‘James T. Kirk,’ as well as a young version of his older brother ‘George Samuel Kirk, Jr.” ‘George Kirk’ will be played by 15-year-old actor Spencer Daniels, while the younger James T. Kirk will be played by 12 year-old actor Jimmy Bennett. (pictured on the left)
Spencer Daniels (’George’) has just completed shooting ”The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” for Paramount. In the film he plays a young version of ‘Benjamin Button.’ Jimmy Bennett (Young ‘Kirk’) voices the character ‘Roo’ in various “Winnie the Pooh” cartoons. He also has credits in “Daddy Day Care,” “Hostage,” and ”The Amityville Horror”.
Trekmovie.com points out that we will see ‘Captain Kirk’ at ‘Starfleet Academy’ (at this point in the movie played by Chris Pine.) And the film will show various points in the life of ‘Kirk’ and ‘Spock’ with a non-linear story-line.

It makes no sense to have a young Spock in the same movie with a young Kirk. Because Vulcans live to be over 300 Earth years old, Spock was a full adult long before Kirk was even born. J.J. should get educated about the history of Star Trek before he lets his writers violate the protocols of Star Trek history.
