Romanek drops out of “The Wolf Man”

Romanek, the first choice director for “The Wolf Man” was the hairiest guy they could find…
Director Mark Romanek (”One Hour Photo“) has continued his famous process of dropping out of feature film commitments by dropping out of “The Wolf Man” for Universal.
The studio now must try to hold together the film after Romanek exited due to “creative differences.” The film has Benecio Del Toro locked as the ‘werewolf’ (perfect casting I might add) and Emily Blunt and Anthony Hopkins were also locked in as the other lead roles in the film.
The studio is searching for another director and the film’s February 18th start date is currently in tact.
UPDATE
Rumors are now circling that Breck Eisner (son of former Disney Chairman Michael Eisner and director of “Sahara“) and Matt Reeves (”Cloverfield“) are being approached by Universal to direct this film.
