Channing Tatum is ‘Duke’ in upcoming ‘G.I. Joe’ film
Director Stephen Sommers has been busy casting “G.I. Joe” for Paramount and it looks like he’s finally come to a decision as to who will play the lead soldier ‘Duke Hauser’ - the affable, arrogany and cock co-leader with a large firearm hanging off his shoulder.
27-year old Channing Tatum has reportedly won the part. An Alabama native he appeared in dance movie “Step Up” and will be in the upcoming “Stop-Loss”
”G.I. Joe” will be released August 2, 2009 and will reportedly co-star Marlon Wayans, Sienna Miller and Ray Park. The plot line for the film revolves around a European-based military unit known as Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity (G.I.J.O.E.) which is comprised of a hi-tech, international force of special operatives who take on an evil organization led by a notorious arms dealer named ‘General Hawk’ (to be played by Dennis Quaid.)
