English soul singer Amy Winehouse, best known for her song ‘Rehab’ with the refrain “They tried to make me go to rehab but I said ‘no, no, no’” has entered a rehabilitation facility today to battle her drug addiction.

 The 24 year old singer was pictured in several British tabloids including The Sun inhaling fumes from a small pipe and police there launched an inquiry into it.  Her record label, Universal Music Group said in a statement:

“Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors…. She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction.”

Winehouse, nominated for six  Grammy Awards for the “Back to Black” album is seemingly as famous for her drug problems and usage as she is for her music.  She has canceled several US appearances due to reports of drug use and was scheduled to appear Saturday at the NRJ Music Awards ceremony in France but didn’t make it.

The Sun has video of Winehouse using drugs before a court hearing to see her husband Blake Fielder-Civil who was being prosecuted for assault and lying to police.  Winehouse was also photographed walking outside her home in London last month wearing only a bra and jeans with no shoes on apparently very drugged out.
