USA experiences baby-boom and so do stars..

I was just reading an interesting article at CNN about how 2006 marked a record year in the United States for baby births. 4.3 million babies were born in 2006 which marks the highest total since 1961. The report largely attributes this to a larger US population as well as high pregnancy rates among Hispanics.
On a worldwide level 2007 marks the Chinese “Year of the Pig” and it’s a ‘golden’ pig or whatever that means, so this means there will be an extraordinarily high number of Asian babies being born.
I attribute the increase in baby births to celebrities and entertainers… If you really do think about it, recently we’ve had the births of Bridget Moynahan and the crazy singer girl from Russian lesbian duo Tatu…
The adoption of twin babies by Dennis Quaid and his wife. And this past weekend both Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie gave birth to their babies.
And let’s not forget the recent announcements that Halle Berry, Jessica Alba, Jamie Lynn Spears, Nicole Kidman and Camila Alves are all pregnant.
Even on-screen babies are a hot topic. There’s the Romanian realist film “4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days” about aborting a baby, there’s “Juno” about teenage-pregnancy and then there’s this year’s “Knocked Up” about - well I’d say its about birth-control and one night stands and I suppose as well about becoming a parent. Which is something that most entertainers and celebrities shouldn’t do…
