Brooke White - the ‘American Idol’ dream begins…
Brooke White was a seventeen year old beauty school drop-out. She graduated from high school after making her move to Los Angeles from her native Mesa, Arizona.
Making the move was hard for her after performing in a school musical and taking some voice lessons, she decided it was the right thing to do. She says that it “was a bumpy beginning, frought with high hopes and heartbreak.”
And through this experience, she returned Arizona and tried to put her dreams on hold. But they couldn’t hold. So Brooke returned to music. And she packed up her Jeep again and gave Hollywood a second chance. In Los Angeles she made her first music video - a low budget road video to her song “Free” which makes fun of Brooke’s attempt to become a beautician before her calling to music arrived. The song was submitted in August, 2007 to local radio station Star 98.7
Now at 24 years old she’s trying to realize her dream and has made the top 50 of “American Idol Season 7“. Brooke’s influences include John Mayer, Carole King and James Taylor and she enjoys piano, guitar and singing.

We expect support for Brooke White will be strong because of her “clean” and “wholesome” LDS (that means Mormon to you) affiliation should also be a factor as you can sometimes think of them as a voting block. (Explains why Marie Osmond did so well in “Dancing with the Stars” - but Brooke seems to be a lot more qualied to win this competition than Marie was to win hers.)

Yeah she is rock solid. We both went to high school and church together. She is LDS and has an amazing family. I used to hang out with her younger brother & younger sister too. They are just good people and Brooke has some amazing talent. Remember to vote!!!

Brooke is great friend of mine. She is amazing and is the most deserving of anyone I know to win American Idol this season. To say she has worked so hard for this opportunity is an understatement. All she’s done is to work for this dream. I hope it pays off big for her. She is wonderful! Wow! I was blown away by Brooke - she is incredible! I love her sound, her music and her voice - not to mention she is gorgeous! She is the complete package. I have never said this about any other idol singer, but after hearing her Hollywood audition, I said to my wife “I would buy her album”. She should be the next idol, but if not, she will make it big time regardless!

John, My thoughts EXACTLY. Brooke is the real deal. I am from Birmingham Alabama, home of Ruben Studdard, Bo Bice and Taylor Hicks but I am more excited about Brooke than I ever was about all of those combined. n Brooke is really talented. I am aggrivated that Paula did not let her finish Beautiful. I would have loved to hear her do the complete song. I am concerned that she seemed to be so stressed on tonight’s show. We need to work very hard to keep her in the top vote count right from the start.
Does anyone know if there is any of her work anywhere available to download.

Brooke’s voice reminds me of Sarah McLachlan and is so refreshing to hear after all the pop-diva-mariah-wanna-be sounds that we hear on AI. Finally, somebody who actually stirs emotion inside my soul. She’s lovely, very likeable, and seems like a genuine person. What a nice change.

From the moment I saw her I thought she was LDS. It’s good to know that she has made it this far! I really like her voice and I know she will go far! If she becomes the next american idol, she will be carrying on a tradition for my family because my older Brother’s name is Taylor (Taylor Hicks) my name is Jordyn (Jordin Sparks) and the next kid in my family is Brooke (hopefully Brooke White!) I’m glad that there is someone to add good morals and her wonderful talents to the show!

I would definitely buy her CD. She is so talented and yet has such a beautiful personality to go along with it. I love it that she is not ashamed to tell the world she does not smoke, drink, or watch R rated movies. She is proof that someone with high standards and good morals can make it in the music industry. Our youth in this country need role models like her and she is a breath of fresh air to older people as well. She has my vote!

I absolutely love Brooke. I think she is the most talented contestant and I would buy anything the puts out. I even love the “apples and Bananas” song. The problem is that this is not a talent contest, it is a popularity contest. I feel sure she will make it to the top 6 and maybe to the top 4, but it is going to be hard for her to beat the numbers put up by the teenie bopper set and the hard rockers. For her to win, her fans need to vote with a passion for the full two hours each time and recruit friends to also vote for her.

INTERESTING OBSERVATION: If you ever get a chance to help out a Christian Evangelist who witnesses to the Mormons, notice how Mormons will immediately flip over any tract you give them. Why? They’re looking for the official Mormon church logo on the back to see if what you gave them is “church approved” and okay to read.

I think Brooke is absolutley wonderful! She has a great attitude and a great personality. I think that this website is great also and that it represents her well. I find it hard to believe that Brooke is only 24. For one, she looks like she’s 34, and in the beginning of the season the judges told her it was her last season to try out, while it said her age as 29 on the screen. Can anyone verify her age?
