Zap2it Casts the politicians in the 2008 primaries

What do you think of Harry Lennix cast as Presidential candidate Barack Obama?
I’m all political during this time of year and shit so I thought I’d give you the results of Zap2it’s casting session for actors to play the roles of the politicians in the 2008 Primaries. Not all of the actors they chose are well-known and some of their choices are a stretch, but here are the results anyhow:
Democrats
Hillary Clinton to be played by: Edie Falco (”The Sopranos“)
John Edwards to be played by: Steven Culp (”Desperate Housewives“)
Dennis Kucinich to be played by: Chris Kattan (”Corky Romano“)
Barack Obama to be played by: Harry Lennix (” Commander In Chief“)
Bill Richardson to be played by: Horatio Sanz (” Saturday Night Live“)
Republicans
Rudy Giuliani to be played by: Zeljko Ivanek (”Oz“)
Mike Huckabee to be played by: Gregory Itzin (”24“)
John McCain to be played by: Kevin Nealon (”Weeds“)
Ron Paul to be played by: Ian McKellen (”X-men“)
Mitt Romney to be played by: Ted Danson (”Cheers“)
Fred Thompson to be played by: Fred Thompson
(”Law & Order“)
I think the best casting is Horatio Sanz as Bill Richardson – too bad he’s dropped out of the race:

Ron
Ted Danson is soooo Mitt Romney, it’s scary.
Harry Lennix as Barack Obama is THEE obvious choice (they’re around the same age, both are known in the Chicago area, actually I read that Harry was thinking about running as a Senator in Illinois, but Obama beat him to it).
How in the hell is Kevin Nealon even considered for John McCain?? 1) McCain is in his 70’s with graying, receding hair. 2) Nealon looks more like John Edwards than Steven Culp does.
Carmella as Hillary?? I dunno… it might work.
Ian McKellen as Ron Paul? No.
Huckabee & Giuliani are on point.
