Olga Kurylenko joins the cast of the latest James Bond movie

We’ve learned that the 22nd James Bond film – “Quantum of Solace” will be directed by Marc Forster (“Kite Runner” ) and that English newcomer Gemma Arterton had joined the cast. We had no idea what part she was being given, but its now become clear that she will be an MI6 agent working with Bond (Daniel Craig). And it appears that Judi Dench (’M') will return as well as American CIA agent ‘Felix Leiter’ (played by Jeffrey Wright). We’ve also now learned that French Cesar Award winning actor Mathieu Amalric (”The Diving Bell and the Butterfly“) is officially signed on and he’ll play the main bad-guy ‘Dominic Greene’. Also, along for the ride is Olga Kurylenko - a 29 year old Ukrainian model turned actress.Kurylenko (’Camille’) is obviously going to be the bad guy’s girlfriend and she most recently played the part of ‘Nika Boronina’ in the Timothy Olyphant action flick “Hitman.”

Announcing the casting choices, ‘Bond’ producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said:

“We are fortunate to continue in the Bond tradition of attracting the finest international actors for our starring roles. Mathieu in the role of Dominic Greene, a leading member of the villainous organization introduced in ‘Casino Royale,’ will be a powerful counterpart to Daniel’s portrayal of Bond.” “Olga Kurylenko will play the dangerously alluring Camille,” “Who challenges Bond and helps him come to terms with the emotional consequences of Vesper’s betrayal.”

The extremely-likely-to-be-retitled “Bond 22” is due to hit theaters worldwide on November 7th, 2008.
