Extras Season/Series Finale is 1.5 hours of Awesome!
Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are two funny English mother-fuckers. What God forgot to give them in attractive physical appearance he made up for by giving them loads and loads of funny.
The pair invented the British BBC version of THE OFFICE and then teamed up with HBO and the BBC to dish out a TV show called EXTRAS.
While the first season of the show concentrated on Ricky Gervais’ characterAndy Millman’s plight as a film and television “extra” in the film industry in London, the second season’s character arch for Millman shows the 46 year old actor become a national sit-com star on a show called “When the Whistle Blows” as he spouts out a catch-phrase “Are you having a laugh?” on each and every episode.
The series finale which aired last night on HBO. It blew me away. It was an hour and a half long and features about 30 minutes with Gervais’ character on the British version of “Celebrity Big Brother”. The episode also guest-stars George Michael, Clive Owen and David Tennant and is sure to win accolades for the work that they’ve done on the series and for the finale in particular.
Here is a Youtube compilation of funny clips from the show featuring guest stars such as Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Daniel Radcliffe and Ben Stiller.
Also, I’m a huge fan of the Extras soundtrack which features a closing title track by Cat Stevens called “Tea for the Tillerman”

good look. I had been wondering who sang the song in the closing credits. Who would of thunk it was Yusif Islam?
