ANALYSIS
The Game Plan with The Rock proves that America loves the formula of a big beefy he-man with young children. Witness Vin Diesel’s crappy movie blockbuster The Pacifier from a few years ago and the legendary performance of “The Governator” Arnold Schwarzenegger in Kindergarten Cop where he exclaimed “I do not have a tumor!”
The Kingdom, a film I enjoyed and will review here on BOPsy had a solid Friday night but due to the film’s playability and the fact its one of a handful of movies that delivers a good solid quality punch with high-powered stars in it, I think it will carry well over the weekend and might even surpass the $20M mark.

Eastern Promises and In the Valley of Ellah share two things in common. They are both being well reviewed and both are struggling to find success at the box office. Perhaps the summer blockbuster fatigue is not fully overcome by moviegoers and this shows that good, quality films might have to work harder than ever before in order to break out (and perhaps re-think such stupid sounding film titles…)
