New This Weekend
It what could be described as the gayest weekend ever in Hollywood history two new films featuring Hollywood hunks (yeah right) John Travolta, Kevin James and Adam Sandler are gay-themed. This would be a great time for a comeback by JM J Bullock.
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry - we are a bit conservative on how well we think this gay-themed movie will do. Not sure that audiences are in the mood for something of this nature or if all the comedic notes hit all the right spots. Our prediction is for a $30 million opening. Let’s see how far off that falls.
Hairspray - this is a cult classic musical and there has been lots of talk around the office about people dying to see this film as well as some positive early reviews. You couldn’t pay me to see this movie. But I am not the target demographic or am I? Just consider this though- TOOTSIE with Dustin Hoffman as an ugly older woman made $177 million back in the 1980’s and Martin Lawrence as an ugly older black woman made $118 million in the US alone not to mention the spawning of a sequel that was just as hideous as the first and made the studio lots of dough.
