Bat fans not foiled by Warner Bros.
Some studios think that they are brilliant in protecting the shooting locations of their high profile films with high profile stars in them. I suppose that this is done in order to prevent gawkers and camera stalkers from staking out potential locations and from over-hyping a film well before its even been shot and looked at.
In Chicago, Warner Bros. production staffers posted a notice for Extras to appear in a film entitled RORY’S FIRST KISS, but also mentioned that the film would be directed by Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale and Gary Oldman.
Since most extras are not that smart (sorry guys, but I’ve done background work and only 1% of you has an IQ over 120 and yes I do mean you!) perhaps they figured that nobody would guess the film’s identity.
Chicago Sun-Times columnist and movie reviewer as well as city native Richard Roeper wrote:
“Is there a Bat[man] fan in the world that doesn’t know Rory’s First Kiss is actually The Dark Knight, which has been filming in Chicago for weeks? … When you identify the studio, director and stars, even the most casual movie fan is an imdb.com click away from determining the movie’s real title.”
Not to mention that there was also this story in April detailing how Batman shooting had set a fire in Chicago and including some of the set pictures. Holy smoke Batman is right! (see picture above)
The Dark Knight will also star Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Morgan Freeman, Eric Roberts, and Michael Caine.
Richard Roeper is a pretty good film critic who usually gets it right, but not always for the right reasons. We especially love how he pokes fun at the marketing genius but ultimately rubbish content that is contained within THE SECRET - read his column about it here
