FIGHT THE POWER HAN SOLO - even if its 25 years after the fact!
Legendary (read as “Aging”) actor Harrison Ford in some kind of marketing push for the 25th Anniversary Edition of “BLADE RUNNER” Director’s Cut 4.0 recently was quoted complaining about the use of narration on the 1982 original Theatrical version of the film. Going so far as to say that working on the film was a “F**king Nightmare.”
“When we started shooting it had been tacitly agreed that the version of the film that we had agreed upon was the version without voiceover narration. It was a f**king nightmare. I thought that the film had worked without the narration. But now I was stuck re-creating that narration. And I was obliged to do the voiceovers for people that did not represent the director’s interests.”
I guess that its great to wait 25 years, make countless millions of dollars and work with Warner Bros. (the studio that produced and distributed BLADE RUNNER) 5 additional times after they made your life a “FUCKING NIGHTMARE” - Oh, excuse me I misquoted you- it was “F**CKING NIGHTMARE”! -
In case you are interested, here are the films that Harrison Ford made with Warner Bros. since BLADE RUNNER and you decide for yourself if the old dude is full of hot air or truly as rebellious as his diamond earring makes you think he is:
THE MOSQUITO COAST - 1986
FRANTIC - 1988
PRESUMED INNOCENT - 1990
FUGITIVE - 1993
