BAD SANTA was a good movie starring Billy Bob Thornton. It became an even bigger hit on DVD when the studio allowed a more racy version than the one that was released theatrically and Disney smartly marketed the DVD with a revised title: BADD(ER) SANTA. Now there has been talk from Burbank, CA that the BADDER SANTA version would be released in high-def DVD on November 20th (Disney only supports the Blu Ray version not HD-DVD.) Later on Disney had reported that they would be dropping the BUENA VISTA banner “leading to speculation” that the unrated BADDER SANTA would be released under the DISNEY name and thereby be controversial among “family activists.” The website HIGH DEF DIGEST said that the Disc will be distributed by BUENA VISTA HOME ENTERTAINMENT and the words “Walt Disney” will not appear “anywhere on the packaging or the disc.”

What I don’t get is this. Why does Disney and ABC think that we are morons? So what, call it BUENA VISTA – we know its DISNEY. The money is going into Mickey Mouse’s pocket so who cares what its being called. I get the whole branding thing, but why get rid of something then bring it back – at least say going forward theatrically we’re just going to do DISNEY films and our back catalogue will have BUENA VISTA to handle catalogue titles that were MPAA rated PG-13 and above.

And another thing – those “family activisits” – they can all suck my big fat cock! If they were smart and savvy enough to know anything they’d know that they were being mind-fucked by Mickey Mouse. Obviously they don’t get it – so why do we care what morons think anyway?
