AFI reveals new Top 100 Greatest Movies list… and so does BOPsy

Oops, wrong AFI. No doubt these emo douchebags’ list consists of Breakfast at Tiffany’s and a bunch of Care Bear videos.
Because stupid lists are sticky content, The American Film Institute has dusted off their Top 100 Greatest Movies Of All Time List from way back ‘round 1998 and given it a fresh coat of paint.
Films no longer deemed great by the shadowy hidden-hand organization include Doctor Zhivago, Amadeus, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Dances With Wolves, and the non-Neil Diamond version of The Jazz Singer. New to the list are Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (No. 50), Saving Private Ryan (No. 71), Titanic (No. 83) and The Sixth Sense (No. 89). The AFI’s Top 10 got reshuffled as well, as seen below:
1 CITIZEN KANE (Formerly # 1)
2 THE GODFATHER (Formerly # 3)
3 CASABLANCA (Formerly # 2)
4 RAGING BULL (Formerly # 24)
5 SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN (Formerly # 10)
6 GONE WITH THE WIND (Formerly # 4)
7 LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (Formerly # 5)
8 SCHINDLER’S LIST (formerly #10)
9 VERTIGO (Formerly # 61)
10 THE WIZARD OF OZ (Formerly #6)
You can view the entire list here, but rather than waste your time with AFI’s stupid list why not read OUR far superior stupid list which can be found below? It didn’t take me 10 years to come up with the list; in fact it barely took 10 minutes. And while you might not agree on the order (admittedly a lot of it was sort of arbitrary) I’m confident most thinking men and women (just kidding… thinking women, ha!) would agree that these are the ACTUAL 100 greatest movies of all time.

Your list loves Scorsese, Cronenberg (love eXistenZ), solid Asian cinema, scary cult stuff… nice! (And you even have a few that match AFI’s list…)
Some fast favorites: Godfather Part II, Heat, Diner, Boogie Nights, The Sweet Hereafter, Avalon, Goodfellas
By the way, saw some of Heavy Metal on HD last week. It’s aged poorly. Like Sammy Hagar himself.
Talk to you guys again.
