Variety “meh” on Pirates. Plus… a POLL
“Guess what? You ARRRrrrrrrr gay!”
There’s a review in today’s Variety for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN III: IS IT PRONOUNCED CARRY-BE-IN OR CA-RIB-EE-IN and BIG SURPRISE, it ain’t that great. Which should have absolutely no effect on the box office since most folks today don’t read, well, anything… never mind Variety. I don’t think anyone in the INDUSTRY even reads Variety anymore; they just use it to fill up the coffee tables in their lobbies or as placemats for their salads from the studio commissary. It’s not like Variety doesn’t making it easy for them, the fucking mag’s like 5 pages long now. But most people in Hollywood will only open a copy of Variety to read about themselves. “Damn, I’m not in this thing. Why am I reading it?” Good question, Bobby. Good question.
Anyway, the BIG question vis-à-vis PIRATES III: IF YOU’RE ONLY GOING TO SEE ONE THREE-QUEL THIS YEAR MAKE IT THIS ONE is whether or not its gonna topple SPIDERMAN III’s BIGGEST OPENING WEEKEND EVAR record set a few weeks back. We have our theories of course, but right now we wanna know what YOU think. Which means its time for yet another BOPSY POLL:
