Dreamworks Digs Jackson’s “Lovely Bones”

Looking svelte, PJ. How long until you leave your wife for Rose McGowan?
Dreamworks – which apparently still exists – beat out the rest of Peter Jackson’s suitors and snatched up rights to the Lord of the Rings helmer’s next pic, Lovely Bones. This will be a “smaller” film for Jackson, budgeted at a mere $80 million. Jeesh, no matter how much success you throw at guys like Jackson and Sam Raimi, you really can’t take the indie spirit out of them. $80 million? I won’t even get out of bed for that. Unless you’re tempting me with a delightful pastry of some sort. Like a Toaster Strudel. Damn, I’d curb-stomp my own grandmother for a toaster strudel right about now. I’d blow up a bus full of heroic 9/11 WTC firefighters for a toaster strudel.
Horror fantasy flick will be based on the Alice Sebold novel of the same name, which was a heartwarming tale about a 14-year old girl who is raped and murdered. Then she becomes a ghost or something. The porno version, Lovely Boners, completed filming last night in my hottub.
