Spiderman 3 — BIGGEST OPENING EVAR.
Despite the fact that it’s by all accounts the weakest film in the franchise (our own Matt Levine likened the Venom storyline to “an emo version of THE MASK”), our pineal glands concur with the results of our recent poll; Spiderman 3 will be the biggest opener in the history of movies that are viewed by persons in theaters where movies are shown. Yup, we’re calling it right here right now. Props to you, Sam Raimi. Though creatively you’re only a shadow of your former self, it warms the cock-holes of my heart to know that the director who changed my life with the deliciously disgusting Evil Dead (featuring what I believe may have been the first death by tree rape) is now the biggest director ever, even bigger than the OTHER guy who changed my life with his deliciously disgusting zombie movie (i.e. Braindead), Peter Jackson. It’s all about the zombies, man. It’s all about the zombies.
