Today’s big casting news: Ed Norton has signed on to play Bruce Banner/The Big Green Guy in Marvel’s semi-sequel to THE HULK. Sequel, to be directed by Transporter II helmer Louis Leterrier, will be more in the traditional popcorn-flick vein vs. the “artsy” direction Ang Lee took in his 2003 rendering of the purple-pantsed one. Yale-grad Norton has spent the last few years both directing and starring in obscure art-house films that no one bothered to see, and generally failing to live up to his mid-90’s “next DeNiro” hype. Norton is particularly well-suited for the role of the Hulk; as a result of the STD-cocktail he contracted after banging Courtney Love for several months, his man-member purportedly turned emerald green, swelled up to five times it’s normal size and began spouting threats to “smash” shit in broken tard English before eventually turning grey and falling off.
